Dr. Gurdeep Jhaj

Gurdeep Jhaj, MD is a fellowship trained board certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care in the High Desert area. He was born and raised in Los Angeles County. He graduated high school as the Student of The Year and Athlete of The Year, playing varsity sports in basketball, track and field, and cross country. He received a full scholarship to attend the University of Southern California where he graduated magna cum laude. He gained early acceptance into SUNY Upstate Medical College in Syracuse, where he developed his passion to improve people’s vision. Dr. Jhaj later did his residency in Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and served as chief resident during his final year.
Dr. Jhaj then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Stanford University. In addition to perfecting cutting edge techniques in eye surgery, Dr. Jhaj served as a clinical instructor at Stanford University training residents in cataract surgery and other surgical procedures of the eye. He also works and collaborates with Google on groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence programs that are being used in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Jhaj is well versed in performing cataract surgery, treating glaucoma, managing diabetic eye care and macular degeneration, as well as caring for other complex adult eye issues. He takes pride in the quality of care that he provides to his patients, treating each patient as if they were his own family.
