Sahil Aggarwal, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma. A California native, Dr. Aggarwal graduated as high school Valedictorian in the San Francisco Bay Area before being accepted to Virginia Commonwealth University’s Guaranteed Medical Admissions Program (GMED), securing admission to the school’s undergraduate college and medical school. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from VCU, he decided to forgo his seat at the medical school to instead return home to California at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. There, he was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) society for academic performance and the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) for ethical patient care.
Dr. Aggarwal later went on to do residency at the prestigious Duke Eye Center, where he was elected as Chief Resident in his final year. He stayed on at Duke for an additional year to complete a glaucoma fellowship under the guidance of pioneers in the field. He also served as clinical instructor for residents in cataract and glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Aggarwal is a full spectrum cataract and glaucoma surgeon with a special interest in severe glaucoma. Surgical services offered include routine and complex cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), tube shunts, trabeculectomies, and laser treatment. Dr. Aggarwal takes pride in treating patients with compassion and a personalized, evidence-based approach.
